More than 400,000 pounds of equipment made its way through Fairborn on Thursday as an electric transformer was moved to the AES substation on Dayton Xenia Road. The transport began from East Xenia Road and made its way to OH-444S. It then travelled on Dayton Yellow Springs Road until it got to Trebein Road, which was used to reach the substation.

Several roads in Fairborn was temporarily closed off Thursday as an electric transformer made its way to the AES substation on Dayton Xenia Road.

Local police personnel and other works prepared their plans to help control traffic along the transport route.

Several intersections the transport made its way through needed additional assistance, such as heightening traffic lights, to ensure the near 20-foot high transformer could safely make its way on city roads.

The transformer was stationed at the Fairborn Railroad site along Xenia Drive until it began making its journey.
